Google released an update on 20th August, 2013 (tentatively) which is confirmed by Google on September 26, 2013. This update did not give any major impact in losing traffic and rankings like previous Google updates Panda and Penguin. Instead, it provides a positive impact on searches. Slight changes are observed in local Search Engine Results Page (SERPs). Before jump into this update, it is important to know about Semantic search and Google graph.
Semantic search is meant to be improving the search accuracy by understanding the contextual meaning of terms that are appearing in searchable data. It can be on the web or a closed system as well for generation of relevant results.
Google graph is all about providing relevant results in terms of search queries in the possible shortest time. It is the systematic way of putting facts, people and places together for interconnection of search results with more accuracy and relevancy. As per HubSpot, nearly 80% of web traffic starts with search queries.
